Southend lose to the might of Old Loughts

Southend M2 1-2 Old Loughtonians

Southend mens second team squad lined up against Old Loughts 5 th team who won the division
below last season in a white wash and with Southend lining up with 5 debutants, it was going to be a
interesting game. Southend applied the first lot of pressure early on with some short corners and
having a player advantage when a Old loughts player got a green card, But the first half finished at 0-
0.
Second half started and was much of the same with Old loughts having a lot of possession but
unable to score. Then with 10 minutes to go and the pressure of new boy Gareth Kong and Felix
Bisgrove working together setting up other new boy George Wren to get a short corner Which Nick
Porter scored from placing the ball through the keepers legs. Old Loughts came out firing and within
5 minitues of the game Southend conceded a goal after a mistake from Prit Mandair who gave the
ball away in the midfield. Old Loughts second goal came in quick succession with first time shot that
cannoned in the back of the net and Southed Keeper Liam Bell helpless.
Southend second team next game is at home again to Braintree men second team at 12:15pm.
