Mel is a long-standing and much-loved member of SHC, and over the years she has taken on a number of roles within the club — from Chairperson to Ladies 1s Captain, as well as being an experienced coach.

Alongside her experience within the club, Mel is also a Mental Health Nurse, bringing valuable professional experience and understanding to this important role.

As Welfare & DBS Officer, Mel will be a point of contact for all SHC members, including parents, who may have any concerns, questions or issues relating to their experience at Southend Hockey Club.

Over the coming weeks, Mel will also be working on some updates to our club policies, welfare information and DBS processes, which we’ll share with members as they are introduced.
